Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY

Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near plant, yard or warehouse by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  1. Uses truck manifest to record product received and bay location information, making corrections when necessary.
  2. Loads product for customer pick-up and prepares Common Carrier, UPS, RPS, and Federal Express deliveries for shipment.
  3. Operates industrial forklift truck to assist in unloading and loading raw materials and product from trucks and trailers, checking for proper material and count quality.
  4. Loads trailers properly to prevent shifting or damaging product in transit and installing stabilizer bars as needed.
  5. Notifies warehouse coordinator of the arrival of outstanding orders.
  6. Notifies warehouse coordinator of any order discrepancies.
  7. Keeps raw material and finished product storage areas and aisles neat, clean, and orderly.
  8. Is knowledgeable and capable of directing all display and consumer shipments from the warehouse.
  9. Follows all Great Northern quality procedures for accuracy and quality, randomly checking a minimum of one order per day.
  10. Changes LP tanks safely, following written guidelines, or recharges electric forklift as needed.
  11. Checks forklift fluid levels and safety devices daily and keeps it clean and blown down of dust accumulation.
  12. Informs supervisors and production scheduler when trucks will be arriving and what product is needed for production and shipping.
  13. Shrink-wraps units as needed in preparation for shipping.
  14. Checks in finished product from vendors, marks units, records information, and stores in designated area.
  15. Compare loading invoice with load tag for accuracy and informs fulfillment group leader of any discrepancies.
  16. Regular and reliable attendance.

WOW Responsibility

  1. Capable of performing all basic shipping functions including planning/un-planning shipments in Amtech, printing all shipping documents and labels, and all basic functions within the 3M USS systems.

Fulfillment Responsibility

  1. Responsible for directing the daily activities of all Fulfillment material handlers.
