Great Northern Wins Awards

Great Northern recently won five gold “Design of the Times” awards, presented by P-O-P Times. In addition, two of the Great Northern's displays won first place in the CorrPack® competition, announced at SuperCorrExpo 2004 in Atlanta.

The “St. Pauli Girl Octobeerfest Castle Display,” a temporary display created for Barton Beers Ltd., won a gold “Design of the Times” award and took home first place for best overall display at the CorrPack competition. This dynamic display featured a corrugated mini castle with drawbridge showcasing the product to capture consumer attention in retail environments.

The “St.Pauli Girl Holiday Sign,” developed for Barton Beers Ltd., took home a gold “Design of the Times” award. It was used in grocery stores and liquor stores nationally.

A “Design of the Times” gold award was won by the “Lightning/NASCAR Promotional Merchandiser,” created for Grainger. This semi-permanent display was created using a mix of temporary and permanent components to maintain cost-effectiveness while extending in-store life.

A promotional kit designed for Crescent Cardboard won first place at the CorrPack competition for best promotion of a product, idea or service. This simple, effective kit uses a unique internal structure to showcase the company's new decorative matboard offerings.

The “Petro Carbo Side-Kick,” a temporary display created for Watkins Incorporated, won a gold “Design of the Times” award. It was designed to hold 36 tins, hang on a standard wire power wing and be set up easily. Built for less than $5 per unit, this display captured new sales in a mass-market retailer.

The “Creative Chef End Cap Display,” developed for Pillsbury®, won a gold “Design of the Times” award. It merchandised several varieties of the Pillsbury line of cookware, featuring un-boxed product for customer viewing as well as boxed product for purchasing.
