POSITION SUMMARY

Sells corrugated shipping containers, point-of-purchase displays, inner packaging, chipboard partitions and related packaging materials by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.  OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Maintain current, qualified list of prospective customers within territory.
  • Set goals with sales management using a qualified list of prospects and personal wants or needs.   Goals should include top five target accounts and a plan to penetrate each prospect.  Goals should be established one time per year, with quarterly reviews, adjustments, and feedback relative to attainment of goals by sales management.
  • Target additional business within existing accounts (may be part of goal setting).
  • Probes to determine customers needs, by asking open and closed end questions.
  • Provide quality alternatives and solutions to customers' expressed wants and needs.
  • Uncover unrealized customer needs by probing (ie: customer may reveal a new need he/she previously was unaware of).
  • Devise, with or without Sales Manager, plan to fulfill customer needs. Solution should fall within GNC’s capabilities.
  • Apply proven sales skills and techniques to gain commitment from customer.
  • Foster future growth potential and nurture long term relationships with customers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sets annual sales goals with Sales Manager.
  • Attends quarterly sales meetings.
  • Attends training seminars and workshops to continue gaining product, process and sales technique knowledge.
  • Works with customer to collect payment on past due invoices.
