APPLETON, Wis., Aug.10, 2009—Great Northern Corporation's Consumer Packaging & Display will be exhibiting at the 2009 In-Store Marketing Expo, Oct. 6-8, 2009, in Chicago.

Great Northern will showcase its award-winning point-of-sale consumer packaging and display capabilities in Booth #604 at Navy Pier. The expo begins this year on Tuesday, Oct. 6, with educational symposiums. The Exhibit Hall is open on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 7 and 8. Registration is available online.

This year, Great Northern has entered five of its recent displays in the 2009 Design of the Times contest, which recognizes the retail industry's best displays and promotions. Entries are judged on creativity in design and engineering, innovative use of materials, compatibility of the display with its retail channel, brand enhancement capabilities, and realization of sales and marketing objectives. Winners will be announced at a reception on Wednesday evening.

Great Northern's contest entries this year include:

SC Johnson OFF! Clip-On™ Floor Display
Designed to create awareness and trial of the new Clip-On insect control product, the pre-assembled display features a push-button-activated audio description and demonstration of the product's
fan to engage and educate the consumer. The loaded tray with pre-attached winged panels and easy-to-assemble base allow the display to be executed in minutes. Product in these display units is outselling the same shelved product in other stores by four to one.

 

Kraft Easy Cheese Floor Display
The lightweight display's cross configuration provides significant structure for the heavy product as well as visual elements that simulate the product canister. The main elements — litho mounted, die-cut corrugated sustainable components — combined with the offset printed .040" SBS tray lips create colorful, eye-catching graphics. With a minimal height of 56", the unit can be placed in multiple retail locations without disturbing sight lines.

SC Johnson OFF! PowerPad® Lantern and Refill Pad Floor Display The LED simulated flame attracts consumers to the display. The lit lamp component integrates with the background graphics to create a three-dimensional placement of the product in a relevant usage occasion. A paperboard tab on the lamp highlights the location of the PowerPad. Scan bar coding incorporated into the trays encourages retailers to restock as inventory sells.

 

American Girl® Grocery Spinner Display
Intended for premium grocery stores, the permanent materials and finishes reinforce the quality of the American Girl® brand and guarantee a long retail display life. With a small footprint and lazy Susan base, the four-sided display fits conveniently in an aisle or near the check out area. The wire form shelving provides multiple logo placements and maximum book exposure.
Additional shelving holes allow for future product sizes.

SC Johnson Kroger Central Mobile Floor Display
The pre-assembled, loaded display arrives ready to execute at retail. Laminated vertical corner supports create an open and organized environment that can be shopped from four sides. Made using fiber-based sustainable products, the mobile display base includes casters to make relocation quick and easy during peak selling opportunities.
