Great Northern Earns Paperboard Packaging Council’s Innovation Award for Kleenex® Hand Towel Package

APPLETON, Wis., April 30, 2010 – Great Northern Corporation won the National Paperboard Packaging Competition Innovation Award for its work in the creation of the Kleenex® Hand Towel package.

Winners of the 67th annual award were announced April 27, 2010, during the Paperboard Packaging Council's annual spring meeting.

Great Northern’s StrataGraph® operation, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, earned the award for its part in creating a unique dispenser that is designed to sit on either a towel bar or counter, withstand moist bathroom environments and deliver single-use paper hand towels in a fashionable and environmentally friendly package.

“We worked very closely with Kimberly-Clark to develop a carton that met their objectives as far as form and function,” said Don Schroeder, president of Great Northern Corporation’s StrataGraph operation. “Our process is a perfect fit for this product line and materials were selected to meet design, structural integrity and sustainability goals.”
